چکیده

We have measured the in-plane and out-of-plane resistivities of the organic superconductor p-(BEDTTTF)zAuIz with disorder introduced by x-ray irradiation. [Here BEDT-TTF is bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene]. For defect concentrations less than 0.15% per mole, Matthiessen's rule is obeyed at all temperatures and a T Z term in the resistivity is found in the temperature region between 5 and 20 K. The long-range superconducting order is destroyed by 0.1 % per mole and the transition is completely smeared out above 0.2% per mole of defects. The overall temperature behavior of the resistivity is discussed and the possible importance of the electron-electron interaction and two-dimensional localization for the stabilization of the superconducting ground state is emphasized.

Chemo- and enantioselective sulfoxidation of bis(ethylenedithio)-tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF) into chiral BEDT-TTF-sulfoxide.

Selective sulfoxidation of BEDT-TTF (bis(ethylenedithio)-tetrathiafulvalene) with enantiopure (camphoryl-sulfonyl)oxaziridine derivatives provided the inner monosulfoxide, as demonstrated using single crystal X-ray analysis, with an enantiomeric excess of 44% (up to 74% after recrystallization).

Resonance Raman investigations of the symmetric stretching mode of I3 - anions in alpha and beta phases of di-bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene tri-iodide.

The resonance Raman spectra of 13anions in the organic superconductor P-(BEDT-TTFhI3 [BEDT-TTF represents bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalenej were studied and discussed in comparison with the nonsuperconducting phase of a-(BEDT-TTFhI3. In both modifications at low temperature a splitting of the Raman mode assigned to the symmetric stretching mode of the 13anions was discovered. The splitting...

Superconductivity in Layered Organic Metals

In this short review, I will give an overview on the current understanding of the superconductivity in quasi-two-dimensional organic metals. Thereby, I will focus on charge-transfer salts based on bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF or ET for short). In these materials, strong electronic correlations are clearly evident, resulting in unique phase diagrams. The layered crystallograph...

Half-filled layered organic superconductors and the resonating-valence-bond theory of the hubbard-heisenberg model.

We present a resonating-valence-bond theory of superconductivity for the Hubbard-Heisenberg model on an anisotropic triangular lattice. Our calculations are consistent with the observed phase diagram of the half-filled layered organic superconductors, such as the beta, beta', kappa, and lambda phases of (BEDT-TTF)2X [bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene] and (BETS)2X [bis(ethylenedithio)tetras...

Calorimetric evidence for a Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov superconducting state in the layered organic superconductor kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2.

The specific heat of the layered organic superconductor kappa-(BEDT-TTF)(2)Cu(NCS)(2), where BEDT-TTF is bisethylenedithio-tetrathiafulvalene, has been studied in magnetic fields up to 28 T applied perpendicular and parallel to the superconducting layers. In parallel fields above 21 T, the superconducting transition becomes first order, which signals that the Pauli-limiting field is reached. In...
